About us
Over 20 years of fitting floors properly
Richardson Flooring Co. is a Lancashire flooring company built on craftsmanship, honest advice and a genuine pride in the finished result.
Your trusted flooring fitter, local to Darwen
With over 20 years of experience in all aspects of domestic and commercial flooring, Richardson Flooring Co. has built a reputation for high-quality installations and a straightforward, reliable service. We’re based in Darwen, Lancashire, and work throughout the North West and nationwide.
Our experienced, qualified fitters are passionate about their work. Over the years we’ve fitted just about every type of floor in just about every type of building: family homes and new builds, rental properties, offices, shops, restaurants, schools, care homes and healthcare settings.
We specialise in the techniques that really test a fitter’s skill: safety flooring with cap and cove skirting and welded seams, glue-down LVT, herringbone and chevron, border work, and bespoke, one-off hand-cut designs. At Richardson Flooring, we believe any design is possible with flooring, and we’re always up for a challenge.
Our approach
The way we work
We listen first
Every project starts with understanding what you need: how the space is used, the look you want, and your budget. We offer a free consultation and give honest, expert advice, even if that means recommending a different product to the one you first had in mind.
We prepare properly
Most flooring problems start beneath the surface. We assess every subfloor and carry out the preparation it needs, from moisture testing and damp-proof membranes to smoothing compounds and plywood overlays. It’s the foundation of a floor that looks perfect and lasts.
We sweat the details
Tight joints, balanced layouts, neat cuts around door frames and pipes, tidy thresholds and clean edges. The details are what you notice every day, so they’re what we focus on.
We respect your space
We turn up when we say we will, protect your home or premises, keep work areas tidy and safe, and leave everything clean when we’ve finished.
